Types of Fundraisers
-
Standard Fundraiser - you buy what you need up front and then sell them
at your site and online. The benefit of this is that you'll have the
bracelets "in-hand" and there will be no delay getting them to your customers,
and you'll usually raise your funds more quickly. The disadvantage is
that you have to pay for the bracelets up front, you have to put in the order a
few weeks before your fundraiser starts, and will have to estimate the number
to order. Sometimes it helps to include some of our standard inventory
bracelets in your fundraiser so you can start earlier and give your donors more
variety.
-
Pre-order Fundraiser - you take orders over a period of time, and then
submit an order for the number ordered. The benefit of this is that you
can collect all of the funds before you purchase the bracelets and you know
exactly how many you need. The disadvantage is that your customers may
not get their bracelets for a few weeks after ordering, and it's always more
difficult to sell something that the customer can't physically see. You
help alleviate this problem by including some of our standard bracelets in your
fundraiser - as your customers will get them immediately.

Examples
Sports Booster Standard Fundraiser
A sports booster wants to run a fundraiser over time and have
bracelets to sell at games and other events. They'd like to have the
bracelets in-hand so they can sell them at their site(s), and they know that
they'll be able to sell quite a few. They choose to set up a Standard
Fundraiser - and design and purchase 1,000 custom bracelets for $1,200, which
they plan to sell for $3 each. They choose to have 500 of the bracelets
shipped to their site, and leave 500 bracelets in wristSpirit inventory.
WristSpirit then sets up their online fundraiser "store", and
gives them a Fundraiser Code. WristSpirit then produces the
bracelets, ships 500 to the booster (to sell as they wish), holds 500 in
inventory and starts selling them online.
The booster then starts selling their bracelets and pointing
donors to the wristSpirit web site with their Fundraiser Code. The
booster tracks the online orders via the wristSpirit web site, and can request
that wristSpirit send them checks for the amount of online funds raised at any
time.
The results: The booster sells all 500 bracelets that
were shipped to them, making $1,500 and 250 bracelets are sold online, making
$750. At the end of the fundraiser, WristSpirit sends a check to the
booster for $750, so their total intake is $2,250 - and the net amount raised
is $1,050. WristSpirit also send the extra 250 bracelets to the booster -
who then can sell them for additional funds.
Elementary School Pre-order Fundraiser
An elementary school needs to raise funds for a class trip,
but doesn't have the means to purchase the bracelets up-front. They
choose to set up a "Pre-order Fundraiser" - and have their students collect
orders for bracelets over a period of 2 weeks.
They design their bracelets and have wristSpirit set up a
"Pre-order Fundraiser" store, and wristSpirit gives them a Fundraiser code and
order forms (they plan to sell the bracelets for $3/each).
The school then collects orders, including payments, manually
and also points donors to the wristSpirit web site for online pre-orders.
The results: at the end of the two weeks, 400 bracelets
have been pre-ordered manually and $1,200 collected, and 600 bracelets have
been ordered online and $1,800 collected - for a total of 1,000
bracelets. WristSpirit then produces and ships 1,000 bracelets (for a
cost of $1,200), and also sends a check to the school for $600. The net
amount raised by the school is $1,800.
